"I'd like to thank my Papa Joe for the privilege and honor of being his grandson. He was a man that was honest, true, loving, and full of integrity. He would never say a bad thing about anybody but he wouldn't put up with any nonsense or foolishness either. He left behind some huge shoes to fill which I don't think I could ever do. But I can try. I love you Papa Joe now go and get some well deserved rest. You don't have to suffer anymore."

"Charlie Joe was a great man. He was a wonderful father to Mike and David whom I am proud to call my brothers. David would come and get me when I was a young girl and take me to the "big house". My fondest memories were Doll & Joe fixing meals in he kitchen, then we would go out on the porch and swing for what seemed to be hours. I loved being there. I always wanted a house just like that one. Maybe my mansion in Glory will look like it with a big porch swing and Joe will come and swing with me. To my brothers, my heart aches because I cannot be there with you. You know I love and cherish you both. I pray God will give you comfort in the days ahead. I pray that you will find security in everyday that you wake knowing you have a very special guardian angel watching over you. RIP Joe, I love you,
Melinda"
