Donald RoyMcBride

Donald Roy McBride, 93, of Point passed away January 31, 2012 at Greenville Health and Rehabilitation.  Services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Dr. James Ralson officiating.  Interment will follow at Etter Lake Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the funeral home.

Born July 10, 1918, in Hunt County, Donald was the son of Hurbert H. and Kittie (Vail) McBride.  On January 17, 1942, he married Aline Owens in Hunt County.  He served in the United States Army and was a retired public school custodian.  Donald was a member of the Baptist faith and was also a member of the D.A.V.

His survivors include sons Coy McBride of Point and Ricky McBride of Greenville;

daughters Birdie Samples of Seagoville, Darlene Elmore of Greenville, Nina Bell Leonard of Alverado, Patsy Jones of Norman, Oklahoma, Shirlene Fitzgerald of Cash, Rachel Tadlock of Mesquite, Brenda McBride of Palmer, Diann Besherse of Point, Ruth Ann Winkle of Wills Point and Debra Barton of Royse City; 37 grandchildren; 56 great-grandchildren; 14 great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his wife; parents; sons Milton and Donald McBride; daughter Glenda Nell McBride; 1 grandchild; and 3 great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers will be Dewey Elmore, Sam House, Gary Elmore, Tony Fitzgerald, Brian Fitzgerald, and George Judge.
