Charles T. Kenney

Charles Thomas Kenney ,86, of Greenville, Texas passed away Saturday, November 17, 2007 at Presbyterian Hospital of Greenville.  He recently had been living in Cooper, TX.

            Charles was born on October 24, 1921 in Denver, CO to Thomas Kenney and Ella Emmert Kenney.  Charles was a World War II veteran who served as a combat infantryman with the US Army in the Pacific.  After WWII, he was employed by the US Postal Service in Chicago.  In the early 1950s he moved to San Antonio and continued to work for the US Postal Service in San Antonio until his retirement.  He was married to Dorene Collins on Feb. 28, 1956 in San Antonio, TX where they resided until Dorene Kenney's death in 2000.  Charles then moved to Greenville where Dorene was buried. 

            He is predeceased by his parents, his wife, his step-sons: Gene C. Dixon and Harold M. Dixon and his sisters: Mary Tully and Rita Maconi.  Charles is survived by his nieces: Mary Jo Tully of Portland, OR and Delphine Tully Fields of Chicago and his nephew, Charles T. Tully of Lago Vista, TX.

            Private burial services at Forest Park Cemetery in Greenville have been arranged by Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
