Vicki
Gail Erickson Noland, formerly of Cash and lately of Rockwall, passed away
peacefully on the evening of July 26, 2022 with beloved and devoted family at
her side. Vicki was born March 11, 1955 in Greenville, TX to W.E. “Bo”
and Wanda (Thompson) Quattlebaum, both of whom preceded her in death along with
her first husband of over 35 years, Gary Erickson, who passed in 2009.
Vicki was also preceded in death by her second husband, Daniel Noland.
Growing
up in Quinlan and experiencing true small town life, Vicki’s friendliness and
unique personality ensured her to have many friendships, several of which began
in the 1st grade and continued until her passing. At a young age, Vicki
trusted in the Lord and joined the First Baptist Church of Quinlan where she
remained a member for over 50 years. Upon meeting Vicki,
folks were hard pressed to say what they noticed first: her bright, intelligent
and beautiful blue eyes or her shining smile as she welcomed you to a long
visit filled with funny conversations and witty observations! She had a
definite way of making you know exactly where she stood on a subject while, at
the same time, making sure that you felt special and appreciated. Vicki was
definitely a people person and she worked as a food server for many years where
her special brand of humor kept customers asking for her every time they came
to the restaurant. Later, she worked at Quinlan ISD and Raytheon where,
again, Vicki made sure that her responsibilities were carried out fully and
completely, all the while helping her colleagues and other co-workers be the
best they could be. The occupation she loved the absolute most was being a
devoted (and always fun!) wife, mom and, later, beloved Nana to the treasures
of her life, her three grandsons, each of whom she fiercely loved. While
being a devoted Nana was the pinnacle of her life, Vicki will always be known
for loving her family with unquestionable loyalty throughout her life. A
beautiful woman who, when she entered the room, was always the life of a party,
Vicki will be greatly missed and always cherished.
She
is survived by her son, Jason Erickson and wife, Elizabeth, of Allen;
grandsons: Wyatt, Cade and Jack Erickson of Allen; father, Charlie Thompson of
Quinlan; sister, Sharon Royal and husband, Donald, of Union Valley; brother,
Charles Thompson and wife, Shari of Rockwall; nieces and nephews: Justin Royal
and wife Jessica, Chris Royal, Jamie Royal, Connor Thompson and Rayce Thompson
as well as many other extended family and a host of friends.
Special
thanks to Ultimate Plus Hospice for exceptionally gentle and loving care of
Vicki; specifically, Lucretia Lara, Fortune Ubani and Rachel Beggs. Also,
thanks to her wonderful friend and companion aide, Stephanie Sedina of
SeniorHelpers, all of whom made Vicki’s life brighter and filled with love.
A
celebration of Vicki’s life will be at 2:00pm, Monday, Aug. 1, 2022 at
Coker-Mathews Funeral Chapel. A private interment will be at Dallas/Ft.
Worth National Cemetery where she will be laid to rest with Gary. For those
wishing, contributions in honor of Vicki’s brave battle with Parkinson’s
Disease can be made to the Michael J. Fox Foundation at www.michaeljfox.org.
