Glenn C. Mitchell, Sr., 93, of Greenville, passed away
on Monday, July 11, 2022, in Longmont, Colorado. Funeral services will be 10:30
A.M., Monday, July 18, 2022, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Dr.
Dewey Davidson and Rev. Scott Mitchell officiating. Visitation will be 9:30
A.M. until service time. Interment will be in Memoryland Memorial Park.
Glenn
was born October 11, 1928, in McKinney, Texas to Leslie Royce Mitchell and
Cordie E. Green. He married Betty Ruth Reed on June 19, 1949, in McKinney,
Texas. He retired as a Texas Game Warden for 33 years and worked for Coker-Mathews
Funeral Home after his retirement. He was a long-time member of Central
Christian Church where he served over the years as Trustee, Chairman of the
board and Elder, he also served as member of the Greenville Masonic Lodge #354,
Scottish Rite Dallas Lodge.
He
is survived by his sons, Butch Mitchell and wife, Gloria, and John (Buddy)
Mitchell; daughter, Kathy de Haas and husband, Robert; brother, Luther Mitchell
and wife, Ruth; grandchildren, Scott Mitchell and wife, Bonnie, Kyle Mitchell,
Jade Fisher and husband, Jason, Kristy de Haas, and Leslie de Haas,
great-grandchildren, Harlow de Haas, Lucy Grace and Eli Mitchell, and Adrian
and Mitchell de Haas.
He
is preceded in death by his wife, Betty Mitchell, parents, grandson, John
Matthew Mitchell, sister, Elizabeth Mitchell, and daughter-in-law, Viki
Mitchell.
Pallbearers
will be Harold Burke, Garry Collins, Robert de Haas, Dick Mitchell, Dale
Waters, Russell Carney, and Raymon Wood.
Honorary
pallbearers will be Greg Coats, Steven Eason, Fernando Estrella, Doug Hackett,
and Jerry Hinojosa. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the American Parkinson Disease Association. www.apdaparkinson.org
