Bonnie Ellen Greenwood, 79, of Greenville, passed away on June 14, 2022, at Baylor Medical Center in Dallas.  A celebration of life will be July 23, 2022, at 2:00 PM at Highland Terrace Baptist church with Dr. Chet Haney officiating. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.

Bonnie was born on December 5, 1942, in Shattuck, Oklahoma to Fearing H. Terbush and Tessie Caldwell Terbush.  Bonnie met Gary when she was 8 years old and by the time she was 13 they began a love affair that would span 67 years.  Their journey which began in Buffalo, Oklahoma, took them from the early years in Stillwater, Oklahoma at Oklahoma State University to Albuquerque, New Mexico, and their final destination in Greenville. Bonnie was a member of Ridgecrest Baptist Church and Highland Terrace Baptist Church. Bonnie served in many facets of church ministry from WMU to director of GA’s.  One of her favorite things was helping with the music at Ridgecrest which she did behind the scenes for many years.  She had a work ethic second to none, in the early years in Greenville she began sewing for the public, and the went on to run Greenville Trophies a business which she and Gary began together.  In 2005 they sold the business allowing her time to focus on her grandchildren that loved her dearly.   She continued to stay active in the church working with CEF a children’s evangelism ministry here in North Texas.  Her greatest desire was to serve the Lord which she did faithfully till the end.  She was from a large family; she often boasted she had 41 first cousins, all of whom she was close to and enjoyed spending time with.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 61 years Gary Greenwood of Greenville, daughter Tonnie Julian & husband Larry of Georgia, son Michael Greenwood & wife Deena of Oklahoma, grandchildren Amanda Wilson & husband Jason of Oklahoma, Aaron Groves & wife Stephanie of Virginia and Ashlyn Greenwood of Oklahoma.

Bonnie is preceded in death by her parents, her second child Teresa Marie, sister Marie, brother Victor and grandson Andrew, and a host of relatives too many to mention waiting to welcome her home into the kingdom.
