Larry Dennis Stroope, of Caddo Mills, passed away on January 7, 2022, in Houston, Texas. A memorial service will be 2:00 P.M., Sunday, January 23, 2022, at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.

Larry was born June 9, 1952, in Greenville, Texas to James Stroope and Marjorie Hightower. He was an owner and Racehorse Trainer and a true “Horseman”. He was a part of the family beekeeping business for decades and generally known as bigger than life. He was a member of the A&M Alumni, Jockey Club, and Our Gang Rugby Club.

He is survived by his daughter, Angela Bollinger and son-in-law, Jeremy; brothers, Jim and Ralph Stroope; and nephews, Rhea and Jeremy Stroope.

He was preceded in death by his parents.
