Fama Pope Parker

Fama Pope Parker, 90 of Baton Rouge, LA, formerly of Greenville, TX, passed away on November 29, 2008 at The Haven Retirement Community in Baton Rouge, LA. Graveside services are scheduled for Tuesday, December 2, 2008 at 11 A.M. at Brigham Cemetery under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Mr. Frank Morgan officiating.


Fama was born on September 25, 1918 in Hunt County, Texas to Tilden Guy Pope and Myrtle Loafman. She married Buddy Parker in Texas. She was a Licensed Practical Nurse and was a member of the Church of Christ.


She is survived by her son, James W. Parker of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and daughter, Martha Weil and husband Walter of New Orleans, Louisiana, eleven grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren.


She is preceded in death by her parents, husband, Buddy Parker, daughter, Anita Cotton and thirteen sisters and brothers.


Pallbearers will be her son, James W. Parker and son-in-law, Walter Weil.
