Melissa Sheppeard

 Melissa Sheppeard, 64, of Greenville, Texas passed away on September 18, 2021 losing her battle with cancer, but winning the real victory in Jesus. A memorial service will be held Friday, September 24, 2021 at 3:00 PM in the chapel of Coker-Matthews Funeral Home with Stephen Price officiating.

Melissa was born January 23, 1957 in Greenville, Texas to James Marshall and Mary V (Hudson) Marshall. She was the youngest of the three Marshall girls (Shannon, Cindy, and Melissa).  The Marshall house was full of love, laughter, music, and dancing. The girls enjoyed learning to jitterbug in their living room every evening with their dad. Melissa stayed in Greenville to raise her family. She was a loving and committed mother to her son, Chris Glover, and daughter, Emily Sanders. The highlight of her life were her grandchildren, Ashley King and Avery Sanders, and one great grandchild, Jayden Gonzalez. She worked many places around town, spending the last 8 years at St. Paulís Episcopal School, where her love for children shone brightly. Melissa was known for her sweet disposition and kind nature. She had an unconditional love for her family and often took care of them when they were in need. She was artistic and creative, and enjoyed sharing her talents with others. She was also well-known for her delicious cooking, especially her homemade chocolate pie! She attended Highland Terrace Baptist Church for many years and was a faithful believer in Jesus Christ.

Melissa is survived by her son Chris Glover of Greenville; daughter Emily Sanders and husband, Wayland of Greenville; grandchildren Ashley King and Avery Sanders; great-grandchild Jayden Gonzalez; sister Cindy Price and husband Stephen of Nacogdoches; brother-in-law Bob Trad of Greenville; Uncle and Aunt Gus and TonaSue Hudson of Sulphur Springs; nieces and nephews Spencer Trad, Amanda Cordova and husband Keith, Tori Wickard and husband Grant, and Austin Price and wife Jasmin; along with great nieces, nephews, and cousins.

Melissa was preceded in death by her grandparents, Eloise Meers Hudson, Frank Hudson, and Stella Marie and Al Canavan, parents James and Mary V Marshall, and sister Shannon Trad.
