On December 30, 2020, Beverly Jackson Loss went to be with
her Lord and Savior, and reunite with her loved ones who predeceased her. Beverly was born in Chicago and went to
school in the suburbs.
She worked in banking and fiancé as Treasurer of two Savings
and Loan Associations. She went on to be
the first female auditor at Morton Norwich Corp. in Chicago. While auditing the Morton Salt Plant in New
Jersey she met Kenneth R. Loss who was to become her husband. He was a widower with two small children. They were married on July 4, 1982 and she
became the instant mother of Ryan and Jessica.
The corporate office of Morton Norwich had a financial controller
opportunity and transferred her to New Jersey.
In 1987 Dow Chemical bought the company where she was working and
transferred her to Greenville, Texas as Financial Controller of that facility
and one in Greenville, SC. When Dow
Chemical decided to relocate to Ohio, Beverly’s family did not want to leave
Texas. She commuted from her Wolfe City home to Dow assignments in Indiana,
Michigan and Ohio. She also had
assignments with US Department of Commerce, FEMA, Deloitte & Touche and SC
Johnson. When her husband had by-pass
surgery in 2001 she had to spend more time at home and decided to enroll in
Texas A&M – Commerce to pursue a second Bachelors and Masters Degree. She became a Licensed Master Social Worker
and worked part-time at the Hunt Regional Medical Center in Greenville, TX and
serves at Governor Abbott’s request on the Texas State Board of Social Work
Examiner’s.
Beverly has been very active in the community. She is a Charter Member, Past President and
Rotarian of the year of the Greenville Daybreak Rotary Club and has maintained
perfect attendance for all the years the club has been in existence. She served as Assistant Governor and
Ambassador for Rotary District 5810 escorting a group study exchange to South
Korea. She was the Chairman of the U. S.
Postal Advisory Board for all the 754xx zip codes, served on the Salvation Army
Board, was a CASA Volunteer in Fannin County, IRS Tax Aide and National
Association of Social Worker Board member.
She is a past President of the Wolfe City Economic Development Council
and a member of the Wolfe City Educational Foundation Board, Wolfe City Library
Board, Greenville Landmark Board and is a North Central Texas Council of Governments
Ombudsman and Benefits Counselor.
Left to cherish her memory are her husband, Kenneth Loss,
son, Ryan Loss and wife, Lindsey, daughter, Jessica Rogers and husband, Damian,
along with grandchildren, Bryanna, Hunter, Nicholas, Logan, Slayde, Hayden, Bryson
and Jaxon. Also, niece, Kristie
Szaflarski, cousins, Maryse and Frank Tetard, Francine and Giles Chavatte,
Bernadette Garnotel, Christian and Marie Garnotel, Herve and Bernadette
Garnotel, Miguel and Josiane Garnotel, Susan Edna Berent and fur babies, Mimi,
Bob and Benji.
Beverly was predeceased by her mother, Lucienne, father,
Robert, brother, Robert, nephew, Kevin and brother-in-law, Karol Szaflarski.
