John Anthony “Tony” McLain, 55, of Greenville, went to be
with his Lord and Savior, after a courageous battle with glioblastoma, stage 4,
on November 4, 2019 at Medical City of Plano. Funeral services will be 2:00
P.M., Friday, November 8, 2019 at Faith Outreach with Rev. Ranse Moore
officiating. Burial will follow at East Mount Cemetery. Visitation will be 6:00
P.M. to 8:00 P.M., Thursday, November 7, 2019.
Mr. McLain was born May 26, 1964 in Bonham, Texas to Johnny
McLain and Gloria Moore McLain. He married Sandra Gail Ryan on February 4, 1984
in Mt. Pleasant, Texas. He worked as the Transportation Manager for Health
Services of North Texas. Tony was involved in various ministries as youth
pastor and pastor over the years. He was
a member of Faith Outreach in Greenville and was a Special Olympics Unified
Basketball Coach. During his courageous battle with cancer, he continued
attending the Maximized Manhood class at his church and graduated on April 15
of this year.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Gail McLain of Greenville;
parents, Johnny and Gloria McLain of Fate; daughter, Brittany Elizabeth McLain of
Greenville; son, Colton Ryan McLain and girlfriend, Tori Fite of Greenville; grandchild, Matthew Ryan McLain of Greenville; sisters, Juhree Martin and husband, Randy of Mansfield, and Marcie
Dodd of Fate; father-in-law and
mother-in-law, Hoot and Shirley Ryan of Pittsburgh; sister-in-law and husband,
Shelia and Rex Morton of Mt. Pleasant; brother-in-law and wife, Garry and Kristi
Ryan of Pittsburgh; and also special friends that thought of him as a 2nd
Dad, Brett Michael Warren and wife, Kati Nicole and their son of Greenville and
Jeff “Two” Bethel and wife Katherine Rae and their children of Greenville and
numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Earnest and
Lizzie Moore and James and Opal McLain; and numerous aunts and uncles.
Pallbearers Jarrod Donnenwerth, Jake Brookins, Jaquentin
Patt, Joshua Martin, Justin Marsh, Antonio Rincon, Bryan Hosking, and Grant
Rodriguez.
