Bobby Mack McClure, 70, of Greenville, went to be with his
Lord and Savior on Sunday, May 19, 2019 in Greenville. Funeral services will be
10 A.M., Thursday, May 23, 2019 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with
Pastor Cris Powell officiating. Visitation
will be 9 A.M. until service time. Burial will be in Bethel Cemetery.
Mr. McClure was born in Greenville, Texas on May 27, 1948 to
Raymond M. McClure and Loretta Grantham McClure. He met Bobbie Morrow on a
blind date and they married one year after on May 5, 1972 in Garland, Texas. Pastor
Terry Schoaff led him to the Lord around 30 years of age. He was instrumental
in the founding of New Life Baptist Church in 1991, along with serving in the
church as teacher and treasurer. He owned
and operated several grocery stores, including A&P, Piggly Wiggly, Tawakoni
Grocery, Delta Mart, Brookshires and Super One Foods.
He is survived by his wife of 47 years, Bobbie McClure;
sons, Buford McClure and wife, Karina, and Brian McClure and wife, Amy;
daughters, Bridget Powell and husband, Cris and Brooke Burns and husband,
Colter; brothers, Mike McClure and David McClure; sister, Wanda Standlee ;
grandchildren, Ashley Storseth and husband, Kirk, Brett Powell and wife,
Ashley, Daniel Powell, Rachael Powell, Hayden Horn, Maddox McClure, Harper
Burns, Trevor McClure and his wife, Cassidy and Grayson McClure; along with
numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Brett Powell, Daniel Powell, Colter
Burns, Cris Powell, Kirk Storseth and Buford McClure.
He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Jimmy, Jerry
and sisters, Carolyn Pippin and Betty “Cookie” Jenkins.
