James Henry Smart, 99, of Lone Oak, passed away on Sunday,
February 24, 2019 at Hunt Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be held on Friday,
March 1, 2019 at 2:00 p.m. at the Lone Oak Baptist Church with Rev. Robert Cook
officiating. Burial will follow at
Hooker Cemetery. Visitation will be
Thursday from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
James was born in Lone Oak, Texas on December 4, 1919 to
Arthur Henry and Annie Bonnie Eula Hunt Smart.
He married Edna Jewel Wilburn on January 27, 1944 in Wagner, Texas. He
served in the U. S. Army and retired from Lance. He was a member of Lone Oak Baptist Church.
James is survived by his daughters, Phyllis Fink of Lone
Oak, Betty Eakin of Greenville; grandchildren, Glenn Spradling and wife, Sarah
of Campbell, Larry Dick of Lone Oak; step-grandchildren, David Eakin and wife,
Tiffany of Greenville, Bobby Eakin and wife, Lora of Greenville, Norman Eakin
of Quinlan; great-grandchildren, Shelby Johnson and husband, Jason of Campbell,
Sawyer Spradling and wife, Bethany of Campbell, Melissa Honeycutt and husband,
Trey of Lone Oak, Jeremy Eakin of Winter Garden, Florida, James Eakin of San
Diego, CA, Cody Eakin of Greenville, Ty Lopez of Sulphur Springs, Elizabeth
Lopez of Sulphur Springs, Rose Page of Llano, Texas and 7
He is preceded in death by his parents; wife; one brother
and 4 sisters.
Pallbearers will be Larry Dick, Cody Eakin, David Eakin,
Jason Johnson, Glenn Spradling and Sawyer Spradling. Honorary pallbearers will be Ricky Fisher, Ty
Lopez, Jerry Sadler, Mark Westbrook, Greg Wilburn and Jeff Wilburn.
