Allen Lee Kennedy, 87, of Greenville, went home to be with
the Lord in the comfort of his own home surrounded by his loving wife and
daughters. Funeral services will be held 2 P.M., Wednesday, October 3, 2018 at
Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Chaplain Chris Pope officiating. Burial will be
in Shady Grove Cemetery. Visitation will be 6 P.M. – 8 P.M., Tuesday, October
2, 2018 at the funeral home.
Mr. Kennedy was born August 19, 1931 in Staton, Texas to
Harvie Kennedy and Emma Mae Palmer Kennedy. He married Sue McFarlin Kennedy on
August 25, 1951 in Greenville, Texas. He worked as a machinist for Texas
Aluminum and Gardner Denver Ind. and a truck driver for TX-DOT. He was of the Baptist faith; was a loving
husband, a wonderful Dad and Grandad. He enjoyed the family get together
because all his family was together. He was a rock for all of us and will be
missed dearly by all that knew him.
He is survived by his wife, Sue Kennedy; daughters, Carolyn
Miller and Sheryl Johnson; brother, Jerry Kennedy; sister, Mary McCorkle;
grandchildren, Ken Miller, Kimberly Miller, Joshua Johnson and Breanna Johnson;
five great-grandchildren; one great-great grandchild.
He is preceded in death by his parents; one sister, Leta
Fleming; one brother, Louis Kennedy.
Pallbearers will be Kenneth Miller, Kody Miller, Colton
Miller, T.J. Miller, Joshua Johnson, Ken Miller and Angel Barcenas.
