Kenneth Norman Linden

Reverend Kenneth Norman Linden, age 80 of Greenville, passed away on August 5, 2018 in Greenville.  A visitation will be Wednesday, August 8, 2018 at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home from 6 P.M. to 8 P.M.  Interment will be at DFW National Cemetery at a later date.

Mr. Linden was born December 10, 1937 in Austin, Texas to Carl F. Linden and Lois L. Kennedy.  He married Norma Jean Freeman on September 23, 1961 in Bossier City, Louisiana.  

Mr. Linden was a proud veteran of the United States Marine Corp.  During his life, he served our city and community as a minister, a city councilman, and mayor.  He was a teacher at Greenville Junior High and High School and at the Dallas Institute of Funeral Service.  He was a licensed funeral director for over 50 years.  Prior to his retirement, Reverend Linden was a hospice Chaplain for a local hospice company.

Mr. Linden was a loving, and devoted husband and father.  He is survived by his wife, Dr. Norma Jean Linden; daughter, Lisa Oliver and husband, Gary of Fate; son, Timothy Linden and wife, Sheila of Greenville; grandchildren, Courtney Kea, Gavin Oliver, Mason Oliver, Jacob Linden, Jason Linden; and great grandson, Liam Mestas.

In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Diabetes Association.
