Beverly Gay Johnson

Beverly Gay Johnson, 74 of Caddo Mills, passed away on Wednesday,
May 2, 2018 in Greenville. Funeral services will be held 3 P.M., Sunday, May 6,
2018 at Highland Terrace Baptist Church with Dr. Chet Haney and Mr. Jim Finney
officiating. Burial will be in Caddo Mills I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Visitation will
be Saturday, May 5, 2018 from 5 P.M. to 7 P.M. at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home.
Mrs. Johnson was born February 13, 1944 in Lawton, Oklahoma
to Fred Niebruegge and Viola Oberg. She married Joe Carroll Johnson on January
14, 2006 in Greenville, Texas. She played basketball for Oklahoma State University,
where she graduated with her bachelorís and masterís degrees in Accounting. She
was a CPA, the owner and manager of Kidís Korner from 1979 Ė 1991, an
Accounting professor at Langston University and ETSU, and worked for L-3 Training
Department and the Accounting Department for 19 years. Beverly won an L-3 Community
Service Award for her dedicated service for Project Christmas Spirit, which raises
money through snack bar sales to buy Christmas gifts for needy children in the
area. She was a member of Highland Terrace Baptist Church, where she served on
several committees, and Altrusa Club.
She is survived by her husband, Joe Carroll Johnson of Caddo
Mills; son, Boyd Barnes and wife, Wendy of Southlake and their children, Bryce
and Sylvie; daughter, Bernita North and husband, Kurt of Frisco and their
children, Coleman, Whitney and Lexi; step-children, Justin Johnson and wife,
Lachelle of Caddo Mills and their children, Jordan and wife, Lauren and Jacey; Jill
Richardson and husband, Joel of Caddo Mills and their children, Cade and wife,
Jenna, Erin Gray and husband, Garret; Jeff Johnson and wife, Laurie of Caddo
Mills and their children, Jake and Jett; Joy Katenkamp and husband, Terry of
Caddo Mills and their children, Josie and Will; Joel Johnson of The Colony; and
Jana Sanchez of The Colony and her children, Sophia and Nicolas; brother, Dr.
Byron Niebruegge and great-grandchild, Emma Gray.
She is preceded in death by her parents.
Pallbearers will be Billy Hardy, Jake Johnson, Jett Johnson,
Jordan Johnson, John Nelson, Coleman North, Cade Richardson and Keith Winters.
Honorary pallbearers will be Bryce Barnes, Clyde Dennis, Jim Finney, Will
Katenkamp and Billy Maroney.
