Jeff was born on May 16, 1963, in New Braunfels, Texas, to Jerry Ray Achterberg and Judy Hoevel. He graduated from New Braunfels High School. He loved the outdoors and had a remarkable ability to work with his hands.
Jeff was a loving father and an amazing grandpa. He had a gift for understanding how things worked and the skill to make them work better. Talented across the trades, he was always looking for a better way to do a job, one that was more efficient, more reliable, or simply done right. His family will remember that talent, his love of the outdoors, and the time they shared with him.
Jeff was employed by Dynacraft.
He is survived by his son, Bryan Allen Achterberg, and Bryan's wife, Nadia; his mother, Judy Nowak; his brothers, Jason Ray Achterberg and Jon Allen Achterberg; and his grandsons, Bryce Achterberg and Kason Achterberg.
He was preceded in death by his father, Jerry Ray Achterberg.
Jeff will be deeply missed by Bryan and by everyone who knew and loved him.
