Larry was born at home in the Shady Grove community on September 12, 1944, to Everett Franklin Stovall and Elaine Dawson Stovall. He attended public school in Greenville and graduated in 1963. After working in Dallas for two years, he enlisted in the United States Navy and served our nation for four years as an aircraft technician. During his time in the Navy, he came home on leave to marry Patsy Vaughn, daughter of James and Marie Vaughn, on June 9, 1967. They were married for 59 years. In 1971, he began his career with the city of Greenville Electric Department (GEUS). After 32 ½ years of serving the citizens of Greenville, he retired in 2004.
He is survived by his wife, Patsy Stovall; son, Brian Stovall and wife, Amy; daughter, Jeri Williamson and husband, Robert; brother, Johnny Stovall and wife, Doris; grandchildren, James Davis, Sabrina Canada and husband, Cameron, Brandon Stovall and Rebecca Stovall; great-grandchildren, Carter Stovall and Aria Canada.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, his grandparents, his sister Phyllis Rhodes, and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.
Pallbearers will be Justin Vaughn, Kevin Vaughn, Ryan Vaughn, Greg Rhodes, Jerry Don Copeland and J.C. Cole.
