Born in Martinsburg, West Virginia, Scarlett is the beloved daughter of John and Denise Wilson.
Scarlett married the love of her life, John Watters in 1994 and together they shared almost 32 beautiful years of marriage and built a life centered on love, family, and devotion to one another.
Scarlett was an exceptionally proud and loving mother to her children, Brianna and Will Watters and her children were her greatest joy and source of pride. She was also exceptionally proud of her service to Army families and service organizations at all levels throughout her 21 years of support to her spouse.
Even as metastatic cancer gradually limited and then took away her physical abilities, Scarlett faced each day with remarkable courage, determination, and love for those around her. Her strength, resilience, and unwavering spirit inspired everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Scarlett will be remembered for her kind heart, extraordinary artistic ability, exceptional cooking, and fierce devotion to family. She cherished those she loved and was a steadfast protector of family and friends alike.
Scarlett is survived by her husband, her children, sister, parents, and a loving extended family of aunts, uncles, cousins, and dear friends.
In lieu of a traditional funeral, a Celebration of Life will be held in accordance with her wishes at a special place of her choosing with a small number of immediate family members.
The family extends its deepest gratitude to the oncology care team, hospice team, family members, and friends whose compassion, dedication, and kindness provided comfort, dignity, and unwavering support throughout Scarlett's journey always made her feel deeply loved every step of the way.
Though her cancer diagnosis changed the course of Scarlett's life, it never diminished the love she shared, the strength she demonstrated, or the impact she made on those around her. Scarlett will be deeply missed, lovingly remembered, and forever carried in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
