So sorry I couldn't come I have had back surgery. Dr. Waters was a wonderful Doctor was there day or night. My husband and I would come out and see the patients and while I took my service dog around my husband would sing to everyone. Dr. Waters would be there and I would take Ginger to see him and he would hold her for hours.

Luann and family, it is a sad time for the Class of 1956. Claude was important to us and and good to see at reunions. Once 6 of us in town for a reunion went to Claude`s clinic to see him. We probably startled the receptionist who had no idea who we were. She did tell Claude some women wanted to see him and he promptly came out. Wish we had a video of the expression on his face when he saw us. Three of us shared this memory yesterday.. My sympathy to all the family.

Dr. Waters was my vet. He took over Dr. Wilkins clinic, who was my father's best friend, so I was used to going there. He was very compassionate as a vet. Later, I enjoyed visiting with Claude when I visited with a friend at Harrison House. We had great conversations. He was always asking me if I had a cigarette, but I don't smoke. I was amazed that he remembered who I was, and he never failed to say hello. He wanted to visit whenever I would see him at Harrison House, which was weekly for several years. I enjoyed visiting with Claude. And did so until Covid hit, and I could not go there anymore. I was so sad to see he had passed. I will miss him.

We had the good fortune to know Claude most of our lives. He will always be remembered in our minds as a kind gentle man always with a smile on his face and a friendly word for any person he came in contact with. He will always be remembered with a smile which is certainly an enviable legacy.
