So many things to be thankful for. You introduced me to beignets and probably the best nachos I've ever eaten in my whole life. Because of you, I have a love for Led Zeppelin and mountain music alike. Your conversations were captivating. Your laughter infectious. Your love deep and true. Thank you for letting me be a part of your family for a little while. I've never forgotten you, and I never will.

Dr. Sorrells was my French teacher in 1989. She was brilliant, tough but fair. I've always remembered her throughout the years.
Prayers for her family.

Dr. Sorrells,

Thank you for pushing me to expect more from myself than I ever thought possible. Many of my memories from High School invole you. You're the reason that I was able to accomplish anything that gets in my way.

One of the people i wish i would have stayed in touch with. Her laugh was unmistakable and sense of humor was one of a kind. The World lost a great soul.

Dr. Sorrells gave me perhaps the greatest gift a teacher can give - confidence. Thank you for seeing something in myself, that I could not see. Your impact on my life will not go unforgotten, forever grateful for your "invitation."

It deeply saddens me to see the passing of such an amazing woman, mentor and friend. I was so lucky to be taught by Doc my freshman year. May she rest in peace, prayers to her family.

Dr. Sorrells wasnít just your average teacher. She was a force of nature. You could feel her intellect for miles. Her brilliance was mesmerizing, and even sometimes intimidating... but mostly INSPIRING. Her wit & intensity always pushed us to be better, not just in the classroom, but in our lives. She didnít expect greatness. She demanded it.

Dr. Sorrells opened my small-town mind to a much bigger world through literature and music, occasionally sharing with us a brief glimpse of her life as a young adult in San Francisco. The first time I visited San Fran, I sent her postcard. I continued to send them over the years, every time I visited there.

She was a groovy chick that just wanted us to be our best. Doc, you reached into the hearts and minds of so many us. Iíve thought of you often since leaving Celeste, and I will think of you forever.

Thank you for being the best teacher of my lifetime. Youíre brilliant. Youíre compassionate. And I hope those traits carry on through all of us...

Love you.
