Hannah Nicole Harris, 16, of Niceville, Florida (formerly of Greenville) passed into the arms of Jesus July 25, 2010 at LSU Hospital in Shreveport, Louisiana. Services will be at 2:00 PM Friday at Highland Terrace Baptist Church in Greenville, Texas under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville. Dr. D. D. Sumrall, Jr., Rev. Royce Litchfield and Mr. Barry Steiner will officiate. Interment will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park. Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the church. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date in Niceville.
Born April 23, 1994 in Dallas, Texas, she was the daughter of William “Tim” and Diane Satterwhite Harris. She was a student at Niceville High School where she was a leader in her school and enrolled in honor and Advanced Placement courses. She was involved in FEA, NHS, Earth Club, and Interact Club, a service organization. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Niceville where she was very active in her youth group and volunteered to work with children in Vacation Bible School, Kids on Campus and in any opportunity given. She was very passionate about her mission trip to Peru and was looking forward to returning to Peru in December with her dad. Her precious life will be extended through her gift as an organ donor.
Her survivors include her mother, Diane Satterwhite Harris and sister, Bethany Harris of Niceville, Florida; her grandparents Lou Satterwhite of Greenville, Texas and William Todd and Norma Jean Harris of White House, Tennessee; uncles Rick Harris and wife Jennifer of Portland, Oregon, Mark Harris and wife Lisa of Orlando, Florida, Rusty Harris and wife LeeAnn of Gastonia, North Carolina and Don Johnson and wife Emanda of Denton; aunt Kathy Gregory and husband Dale of Kingston Springs, Tennessee and numerous cousins.
She was preceded in death by her father on July 23, 2010.
Pallbearers will be Justin Anderson, Conner Mulkey, Austin Minick, Ross Spock, Bradley Gaulden, and Richard Hardy. Travis Nelson will serve as Honorary Pallbearer.
Because of the love of the work Hannah and her father were involved in with the orphanages, the family has requested that memorials be made to: To Every Nation, P. O. Box 8563, Greenville, TX 75404. Donations may also be made to Scottish Rite Hospital, 2222 Welborn St., Dallas, TX 75219 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-1942.
