William Timothy Harris

William “Tim” Harris. 51, of Niceville, Florida (formerly of Greenville) passed into the arms of Jesus July 23, 2010 near Choudrant, Louisiana.  Services will be at 2:00 PM Friday at Highland Terrace Baptist Churchin Greenville,Texas under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home in Greenville.  Dr. D. D. Sumrall, Jr., Rev. Royce Litchfield, and Mr. Barry Steiner will officiate.  Interment will follow at Memoryland Memorial Park.  Visitation will be from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM Thursday at the church. A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date in Niceville.

 

Born April 8, 1959 in Madison, Tennessee, Tim was the son of William Todd and Norma Jean Carlisle Harris.  On June 29, 1985, he married Diane Satterwhite in Greenville, Texas.  He was Vice-President of  Programs at L-3 Communications, Crestview Aerospace.  He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Niceville where he served as a deacon. While living in Greenville, he taught Sunday School classes from preschool through married adults and was active in men’s Bible Study and discipleship.

He was very passionate about his mission trips to Peru and was looking forward to returning to Peru in December with his daughter, Hannah.   After his love of the Lord, He was a faithful husband and father.

 

His survivors include his wife, Diane Satterwhite Harris of Niceville, Florida; daughter Bethany Harris of Niceville, Florida; parents William Todd and Norma Jean Harris of White House, Tennessee; brothers Rick Harris and wife Jennifer of Portland, Oregon, Mark Harris and wife Lisa of Orlando, Florida, and Rusty Harris and wife LeeAnn of Gastonia, North Carolina; sister Kathy Gregory and husband Dale of Kingston Springs, Tennessee; mother-in-law Lou Satterwhite of Greenville, Texas; brother-in-law Don Johnson and wife Emanda of Denton, Texas; special cousin David Gragg and wife, Janet of Madison, Tennessee; and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and cousins.

 

Tim’s daughter, Hannah, passed into the arms of Jesus on July 25, 2010.

 

Pallbearers will be Keith Farr, David Gragg, Richard Hardy, George Kroncke, Jr., Frank Street, and Barry Steiner.  Honorary pallbearers will be John S. Nelson, Dr. James Nicholson and Bryan Stone.

 

Because of the love of the work Tim and his daughter, Hannah, were involved in with the orphanages, the family has requested that memorials be made to:  To Every Nation, P. O. Box 8563, Greenville, TX   75404. Donations may also be made to Scottish Rite Hospital, 2222 Welborn St., Dallas, TX    75219 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN   38105-1942.
