Andy F. Robinson

 Andy F. (Robbie) Robinson, Jr., 78, of Greenville, passed away in the early evening hours of Wednesday, Jan. 27, 2010, in his home in Greenville. He will be greatly missed by all those that have been touched by his life.

Mr. Robinson was born on Jan. 31, 1931, in Anson, Texas to Andy F., Sr. and Eula Clark Robinson. His family moved to the Salem community northwest of Greenville in 1933, where he graduated from Greenville High School in 1948.  Robbie served in the Naval Reserve in the late 1940’s.  He retired from Raytheon after 38 years as General Supervisor.  After retirement, he used his love and knowledge of antiques to organize estate sales in the North Texas area.  He was a member of the Methodist church, a 32° Scottish Rite Mason and a member of Hella Shrine.

 

He is survived by his wife, Donna; daughter, Kara Robinson of Dallas; step-daughters, Darla Sidles of Tucson, AZ and Cyndi Sidles of Portland, OR; sister, Jeri Howard of Montgomery, TX; many special nieces and nephews; and his beloved pets, Missy and Lucy.

 

He was preceded in death by his parents; sisters, Owana Weatherly, Juanita Woody, Estella Griggs, Fran Giles, and Carol Swearengen; and brother, Harold Robinson.

 

A Celebration of Life Service will be held Saturday at 2:00 PM in the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home, with Rev. Roger Ratliff officiating.

 

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. on Friday at the funeral home which is in charge of arrangements.



The family requests that in lieu of flowers, memorial donations be made to the American Cancer Society, the American Heart Association, or the Prairie Valley Cemetery Association (P.O Box 9273, Greenville, TX  75404-9273).
