Jack Nathaniel Wallace, passed away at the age of 102
on October 29, 2022 at Briarcliff Health Center.
Jack was born near the Dixon Community in Hunt County,
Texas on August 30, 1920, to Coleman R. Wallace and Ura Roberson Wallace. He started school at the Sullivan Community
School. When he was 12, the family moved
east of Quinlan to a community called Mexico.
In 1935 the family moved to Wieland where Jack attended school through
the 10th grade. When WWII
broke out, Jack was drafted into the Army and became a MP, riding the trains in
the states for a long time. He was sent
to Italy for a year and a half after the war ended. He then returned to the
states where he was discharged in January 1946.
In April 1947, he married Imogene Paris in Greenville,
Texas. They were married 75 years.
Jack was a cattle rancher for about 70 years.
Jack and Imogene were members of the Campbell Church
of Christ for over 70 years.
Jack is survived by his daughter, Gayle Burns and
husband Art; son, Clinton Wallace and wife Sandra; grandchildren, Tanya Clay
and husband, Neil, Brent Burns and wife, Jenny, Jon Wallace and Jackie Wallace;
great-grandchildren, Hailey Burns, Cooper Clay, Georgia Clay, Brooks Burns,
Allyssa Cheshier and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his wife; parents;
brothers, Hilton Wallace, Wayne Wallace; sisters, Lois Crouch and Juanice Van
Huss.
In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the American Cancer Society.
