Ronald Eugene Minyard, 70, of Greenville, Texas, passed away
October 22, 2022 at Tanner Health Systems in Carrollton, Georgia. Funeral services will be held on Saturday,
October 29, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. at the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with
Rev. Jimmy Vaughn officiating. Burial
will follow at Shady Grove Cemetery.
Visitation will be Friday, October 28, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m.
at the funeral home.
Ronald was born December 5, 1951 in Ft. Worth, Texas to Oben
Eugene and Patricia Agnew Minyard. He
graduated from Sunset High School in 1970.
Ronald married Madelene Kovar on January 19, 1973 in Mesquite, Texas.
At a young age, he worked doing paper routes to help his
family. Then he worked in construction
until he became a union master electrician at Hargrove Electric for many years
and then GEUS for over 20 years. He even
had his own electrical business, Bent Tree Electric for many years, all while
being a cattle rancher.
He was a hard worker often working from sun up till sun
down. He never met a stranger who he did
not create a friendship with. He was always there to lift a helping hand to
family, friends and strangers.
He loved spending his summers with his Grandad and cousins
as a child. He had a love of traveling
and helping other. Ronald was a
dedicated husband, provider and caretaker to his wife, Madelene, who he loved
above all.
He was a very involved father to Michele, who always
followed him around at a very young age, who supported her goals in showing
horses in 4-H in school. He taught her to be independent so she knew how to
take care of herself. Always a Daddy's
Girl.
He was a good Pops to his only granddaughter Megan, even
stepping in and doing father duties and was always there when needed.
Ronald is survived by his wife, Madelene of 49 and a half
years; daughter, Michelle Minyard and husband, Ryan; granddaughter, Megan;
sister, Nelda Moates and husband, Donnie; and brother, Randy Minyard.
He leaves behind a huge family from Oklahoma, brother and
sister-in-law, Bill and Janis Kovar; sister-in-law, Marsha Wood; as well as
immediate family, nephew, Kelly Kovar and wife, Lauren, and their children, Kennedy
Kovar, Kenzi Kovar, Luke Kovar, nephew, Kyle Kovar and wife, Rachael, and their
children, Raylee and Russell, nephew, Justin Minyard, nephew, Cooper Wood and
many friends.
When Michelle and Ryan became a couple in 2015, he gained
another granddaughter, Chasity Haley as well as three great-grandchildren,
Jacob, Avery and Octavia. He enjoyed
Ryan's family get togethers.
He is preceded in death by his parents; brother, Steve
Minyard and nephew, Aaron Minyard.
Pallbearers will be Russell Carter, Al Davis, Troy Reimer,
Jason Roberts, Steve Shaw, Kevin Warren and honorary pallbearers will be Ted Hunter, Wayne Jackson and Joe Green.
