Betty Jean Barnes, 79, of Caddo Mills, Texas, passed into the loving arms of her Heavenly Father on October 19, 2022, at Briarcliff Health Center. A funeral service will be held on Tuesday, October 25, 2022, at 10:00 a.m. at the chapel of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Mr. Carlos Denton officiating. Burial will follow at Caddo Mills I.O.O.F. Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday, October 24, 2022, from 6:00 p.m. 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Betty was born July 20, 1943, in Wewoka, Oklahoma to Gene Barrowman and Louetta Brooks Barrowman. She married the love of her life, Jerry Barnes on July 20, 1962, in Borger, Texas. They shared 51 wonderful years of marriage. She was a homemaker and a member of Caddo Mills United Methodist Church. Betty's infectious love and joy was known by all, and she never met a stranger.

She is survived by her son, DeWayne Barnes and wife, Kristina; daughters, Jamie Denton and husband, Carlos, and Jennifer Barnes; grandchildren, Kacie Denton, Jacob Denton, Kortni Nelson, Tre Barnes and one great-grandchild, Averie Quinn Nelson.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Barnes; parents, Gene and Louetta Barrowman; and two sisters, Johnnie Mae Gosey and Janie Moore, along with many other loving family members.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Denton, Tre Barnes, Seth Nelson, DeWayne Barnes, Carlos Denton, and Trystan McGee.

Betty loved all and was loved by many.
